WILLIAM HILL GROUP WARNING
William
Hill purchased the Crown Solutions group (a Playtech group with a bad
reputation) and introduced a new Playtech Casino in 2009. William Hill claims
that they are taking new steps to insure that the previous problems with the
the Crown Solutions group will not be repeated. Player feedback from the new
casino has been mixed. The Playtech casino does pay winnings in a few days,
but bonus terms may be misleading and support is often not helpful. For example,
an undesirable 15% bonus is automatically given with most deposit methods,
which may be difficult to remove (see T&C). See the no deposit bonus summary
for another example. In short, this is not the William Hill quality that players
are used to and have come to expect. The new bonuses all have somewhat confusing
terms, so I will describe them in more detail below.
No Deposit Bonus
The bonus is a $/€/£ 30 sticky with 20xB wagering on casino hold'em. Players not depositing in the currency applicable to their home country may be restricted from this offer. After completing wagering, you must make a deposit of at least £35/€40/$50 before withdrawing winnings. Unfortunately, you will get the first deposit bonus with this required deposit, and support voids your freeplay winnings if you have the 1st deposit bonus removed. Further complicating the matter, the maximum withdrawal on the no deposit bonus is £200/€300/$300. This combination gives you the undesirable choice of:
1. Making the minimum deposit and playing the first deposit bonus, risking your no deposit winnings when doing two-tier betting on the sticky and trying to avoid reaching the maximum win
2. Skipping the no deposit bonus all together, so you can receive a larger first deposit bonus without being restricted by the maximum win
I'd expect players with a low risk tolerance to favor option #1, and advanced players to favor option #2.
First Deposit Bonus
For most countries, the standard bonus is a 150% to €/$ 300 sticky with 20xB wagering on casino hold'em. For UK players, wagering is increased. The bonus is a 150% to £150 with ~34xB wagering on casino hold'em (or 150% to €300 with ~42xB wagering on casino hold'em).
The terms imply that larger bonuses are available as well -- 70% to €/$700 with ~30xB wagering on casino hold'em, 50% to €/$1000 with 36xB wagering on casino hold'em, and 33% to €/$2000 with 48xB wagering on casino hold'em. You may want to contact support before claiming these larger bonuses, as the terms are ambiguous, and I haven't heard any feedback from players.
Second Deposit Bonus
For most countries, the standard bonus is 60% to €/$ 500 with ~27xB wagering on casino hold'em. For UK players, wagering is increased. The bonus is 60% to £500 with 40xB wagering on casino hold'em. Support tells me this bonus is sticky, in spite of the misleading terms.
Monthly Reload Bonus
For most countries, the standard bonus is 100% to €/$ 200 with 24xB wagering on casino hold'em. For UK players, wagering is increased. The bonus is a 100% to £100 with 30xB wagering on casino hold'em (or 100% to €200 with 50xB wagering on casino hold'em). Support tells me this bonus is sticky, in spite of the misleading terms.
